At least 88 people (or at least 95 - according to Voice of America ) were killed yesterday when a suicide bomber drove a truck loaded with explosives on to a village green during a volleyball match in northwestern Pakistan. Hundreds of people were watching the match in the remote village of Shah Hason Khel when the bomber struck. The bodies of the players were thrown hundreds of feet by the powerful blast, that also destroyed 20 houses. “It’s just a disaster. I can see flesh, bodies and wounded all around,” Fazl-e-Akbar, a witness, said.

...I was shocked when I read the above news story. Jihad is traditionally against armed combatants or the infidels, not some innocent civilian spectators at a village volleyball match who may also be Muslims. This outrage demonstrates just what is wrong with Islam. I feel sorry for the people who have to live in these lawless areas of northwestern Pakistan. This slaughter is dreadful and I always thought that sporting venues could attract terrorists because of the density of the attending spectators. I wonder what precautions the Metropolitan Police in London will be taking when we hold the 2012 Olympics? The packed venues in London under the global media spotlights will be a challenge to the terrorists because of the impact their violence could ignite.
